Review
I am not a fans of superhero movie, but I have so many credits for The Dark Knight movie. I knew that it will be better than Batman Returns, and yes I got it right. I think those two movies are really mature in such a way that never becomes a major concern of many superheroes movie. Maybe it is because most of superhero movies refer to children, but come on, adults need their ones too. Batman is not typical any superhero that can use their super power and over power their enemy. Batman is just ordinary guy who lands better than any other people from sky-scrapper building with the help of high-end technology. But without the help of the gadget itself, Bruce Wayne will be about the same as us.
It makes Batman a fragile superhero, and that is the selling point. In The Dark Knight movie, Batman faces his eternal villain : Joker -whom i think the strongest opponent of Batman. I watched the trailer of the movie before, and i kind of thought that The Dark Knight actually referred to Joker itself. But I was wrong. Watching the movie, my heart was trembling so hard knowing that there is possibility that Batman would end up losing to Joker. It is the first time of my history seeing superhero movies that make me doubt that the superhero will win over the villain.
The opening of the movie is brilliant. It started when Joker and the gang robbed the bank. It was some totally psychologically trick to make the member of the rob gang killed each other to make the money being shared for less people. each of the member is instructed by Joker to kill another member. By the end, only Joker who survived and brought all of the money himself. He also made a great escape.
Joker might be the most scary villain known to man. It is not because he has such unbeatable super power, but he is scary because he has no rule and act like mad dog. He did whatever person never had a thought of it. He sneaked a guy to a police station and planted a time bomb in his chest just to bring the police station down. He also put people in shocking scenario when sending two boats -one is filled by civil people and the other one is loaded of prisoners- with bomb detonator that can generate bomb implanted in each opponent ship. They are given time limit to push the button in order to blast the other ship. It was a rush and psychological war. I could barely see it, thinking that if it happened to me. It was quite a twist.
The most interesting part is when Joker told Batman that they completed each other. Both of them broke the rule in the way they do their mission. It made Batman a villain in a good way. There was a scene where Joker was only an inches from killing Batman, but it turned out that he did not make it. Instead, Joker left Batman alive, by saying "I don’t want to kill you, because you complete me." Without a doubt, this movie gives an opportunity to the audience to see superhero character in different perspectives.
There are lot of things to offer in this movie. Overall, I really recommend you to see it.
